On Friday the 3rd february, germany’s most successful Linkin Park Tribute Band played in the Colos-Saal in Aschaffenburg. We’re talking about One Step Closer. Actually, I’m not a fan of covers or tribute bands, I prefer the original, but I wanted to give the supposedly most successful band on the subject of Linkin Park a chance. I can uncover that much, I was not disappointed. But one by one.

Admission was at 7 p.m. and the hall of the Colos-Saal filled up more and more until it was packed just before the start. After I knew that I could take pictures during the whole concert and that there was no photo pit anyway, I decided to start from the back. It started punctually at 8 p.m. and due to my decision, I was able to see and enjoy a really cool intro as a whole. They started with one of my favorite songs, Papercut, which they really rocked. One hit after the other followed, but also some songs that I didn’t know at all. I realized that there was obviously still a lot of gaps in my Linkin Park knowledge. But that doesn’t change the fact that a 55-minute long and intense celebration took place here, which you could only enjoy.

Setlist Part 1:

Papercut (Intro)

Given up

Bleed it out

What I’ve done

Somewhere I belong

Leave out all the rest/tridescent

Lost in the Echo

Talking to myself

When they come for me

Wretches + Kings

Remember the Name

Numb/Encore

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] The break lasted exactly 15 minutes, but it also surprised the spectators a bit when it suddenly continued. What followed was a great show similar to that of the first 55 minutes. The only thing I missed was a real moshpit, but when they played Breaking the habit, it suddenly started. A little late, but better late than never. Before that tho, there was something special. Singer Lukas went in the middle of the audience to sing One More Light from there. I was able to capture the whole thing from the stage, take a look for yourself in the pictures. Great moment. Lukas then wanted to treat himself to his crowdsurfing moment of the evening during Crawling and let the audience carry him from the stage to the back of the mixing desk while he sang, only to then continue singing while walking from the back to the front again. After that, the band left the stage, just to come back to the typical “encore” shouts. They closed the evening with three songs and finished it with the song that gave the band its name, One Step Closer. After a little more than two hours, the evening was over and I was thrilled. The band can be recommended for hard core Linkin Park fans. I’ll gladly go and see them again.

Setlist Part 2:

No more sorrow

A place for my head

As December Falls is one of those bands that offers you to give their CD for free, if you pay the shipping. It’s a cool idea in itself, but above all it leads to people having a closer look at the band, as it was in my case. That was a few months ago. Now they happened to be on tour through Germany as part of their very first EU tour. Since the pop-rock/punk songs somehow caught me and, thanks to Brexit, smaller English bands will rarely come to Germany in the near future, I didn’t miss the opportunity to go to the Kesselhaus at the Schlachthof in Wiesbaden to see As December Falls. Crossing the long line for the concert of The Script, I was able to quickly go into the small hall. All in time to catch Cadet Carter‘s unannounced support of the support act. That’s how Abi Williams was announced by Nick Sauter, the singer of Cadet Carter. Abi is actually the merch lady from As December Falls. Nick and Korbinian (Cadet Carter‘s other guitarist/vocalist) convinced her to perform a song with them at the very beginning, before the actual start of the evening. An electric guitar, an acoustic guitar and an enchanting voice. It’s a pity that it was already over after one song, there could have been more, even if it wasn’t rocking at all. But gentle and adorable. There was a lot of applause for the short performance.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] So it was ten past eight as Cadet Carter entered the stage. What followed was half an hour of solid alternative rock that got the crowd pumped up. With In the Clear they started with a song which is rather pop than rock, but still cool. It is also the first song from their last record Anthems for the Weak. With Stumbling, followed by The Best Part, they stumbled further and further into rock. Windshields was the first song not to be found on the Anthems Album, but it is their most successful song on Spotify. But then Blinding City Lights takes you back to it. A really good rock number to go off on, which the band also demonstrated on stage. This was followed by two older songs before Break Away closed the show, just like it does on the album. With the performance, they showed that they can not only be gentle, but really rock, with a lot of fun. They showed that they had it on stage and really took the audience with them. Especially since it was the last concert for the guys on the tour. They squeezed the eight songs into half an hour and really made you want more. Of course, the obligatory crowd photo could not be missing at the end.

Setlist Cadet Carter:

In the Clear

Stumbling

The Best Part

Windshields

Blinding City Lights

Car Park Song

A bad few Weeks

Break Away

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] After half an hour, the lights went out again. Knowing that only the first three songs could be photographed, I moved forward to get a good position. The other spectators let me do it, knowing that after three songs we would give them their place again. A ditch would have been more pleasant, but on the other hand it would have ruined the club character of the Kesselhaus. But I don’t want to complain. Let’s get to the actual, the performance. It started with Go away. Of course, that didn’t mean the spectators, anyone who would have followed it would have missed a really cool and brilliant performance. Bethany twirling across the stage again and again, with very expressive facial expressions and involving the audience, just like in No money, where the specatators where asked to sing No or No money along. Which also worked very loudly and successfully. You could also see her singing lying down … if you stood in the first few rows, further back it was difficult, the stage wasn’t that high. Another funny anecdote was how guitarist Ande asked a spectator not to put his beer on the edge of the stage because he might kick it and said spectator could then probably, understandably, be quite angry. And that would be uncool. After the short request, however, it went straight on and the beer also disappeared from its place. Ride, the band’s most famous song, should also be the end of the evening. In theory, because the headliner leaves the stage after the announced last song, lets himself be celebrated and then comes back for one, two or three songs. Only the band made the rules a little different. To quote Bethany loosely: “Now would actually come the moment, where we leave the stage and wait for you to call us back and then come back. Only this time we’ll just skip it and just stay on stage.” But Ande still wanted to be celebrated and asked the audience: “How do you say ‘One more song’ in German?”, to then initiate the “Zugabe” call, enjoy it briefly and then to really end the evening with More to you. Which was then also crashed by Abi and Cadet Carter, in which they threw heaps of POM-BÄR and other bags of chips onto the stage, which even meant that Bethany couldn’t continue singing as she laughed so much. Unfortunately, after 50 minutes it was really over. Could have gone longer but it will be a night remembered.

Setlist As December Falls:

Go away

Afterglow

I’m Not Okay (I Promise)

No money

Mayday

Everything you say

Zombie

Ride

It was finally here and the wait was over. The “Viva the Underdogs Tour” 2020 and 2021 of the exceptional Australian artists, which was postponed due to Corona, was finally allowed to take place as the “Darker Still Europe Tour 2022” and on September 14th Parkway Drive made a stop in the Festhalle in Frankfurt. Due to all the cancellations, a lot had changed in the support bands as well. Stick to your Guns and Hatebreed were originally planned, but they were completely swapped out and replaced by the Americans Lorna Shore and the British While She Sleeps.

Lorna Shore started as planned at 6:30 p.m. But before that could happen, the patience of the visitors was put to the test. Admission was originally supposed to start at 5:00 p.m., but it was delayed until 6:15 p.m., as apparently there were still guests on the premises from the trade fair that was taking place at the same time. Unfortunately, there was no information about the delay from the organizer or security either. Pretty pissed off and partly completely soaked from the downpour that had started again in the meantime, everyone tried to make it to the festival hall within the remaining 15 minutes, to buy beer, to leave their wet things in the cloakroom or to secure a good place. Not everyone succeeded and caused enough resentment, although admission actually went quite smooth.

Lorna Shore

Then finally, Lorna Shore, with exceptional singer Will Ramos, started their show on time. With lots and lots of fog and dark light, the band entered the stage, which had an outsourced bridge in the middle, to start with a cracker as the first song. To the Hellfire, one of their most well-known songs, blew the minds of listeners. This is where Will‘s unbelievable talent was shown, who manages to create such unbelievable breakdowns on his own vocally that you really wonder how such an unbelievable voice can come from such an inconspicuous and delicate person. When he then called in a Wall of Death, it was no surprise that he got it. Unfortunately limited in size by the wave-breakers, it still was quite impressive for the first band. Even though Will emphasized that he wasn’t feeling well that day, he definitely didn’t show it. However, I wouldn’t have put them as an opener, because the mood would have been a little better if While She Sleeps had really got the crowd going. Nevertheless, Lorna Shore delivered completely and convinced the audience.

With a very dark show and little light, the guys presented a few more songs like Sun//Eater and Cursed To Die. Unfortunately, the set was pretty short and after the five songs, the band left the stage to loud applause.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Setlist Lorna Shore

While She Sleeps

Next up, While She Sleeps entered the stage of the Frankfurt Festhalle. The hardcore quintet from Sheffield in Great Britain obviously made it their mission to make everyone present sweat a lot. It started with the title track of their last record, Sleeps Society and immediately the first small pits formed in the auditorium. Frontman Loz just whirled across the stage and the bridge that jutted out into the crowd.

Already with the second song, the band managed to get the audience to mosh, to sing and to start one or the other Wall Of Death, which is a proud achievement for an opening act. The setlist consisted of several new and a few older songs. They played the song Anti-Social very melodically and with a lot of energy. As with Lorna Shore before, the stage lights were very dim and foggy. This made it very difficult to see the back band members from the auditorium, but that didn’t spoil the very good atmosphere: the audience sang along at the top of their lungs during the song You Are We.

After a full hour’s program, the English left the stage to great applause and gave the audience a little breather. After this sweaty show, everyone involved could get drinks to wait together for the main act of the evening.

Parkway Drive

During the short changeover break, the entire stage was covered in thick smoke with smoke machines. For a mysterious and atmospheric intro, some figures dressed in black cowls first entered the stage. They held great torches in their hands and had their hoods pulled low over their faces. Shortly thereafter, the guys from Parkway Drive appeared and got off to a brilliant start with their latest song Gitch. The song was accompanied by powerful volleys of pyro, which were fired rhythmically and brought the air around them to a boil. With a permanent grin on his face, singer and frontman Winston McCall thanked the other bands of the evening and the numerous spectators.

With their choice of songs, Parkway Drive hardly gave their fans a chance to take a deep breath in 90 minutes: Right at the beginning of the set there were the fan favorites Prey and Carrion. So one hit followed the next – then came Vice Grip and people jumped up and down to the beat. In addition to Glitch, the quintet also brought along Ground Zero, The Geatest Fear and the title track Darker Still from the brand new album. The band was not only convincing musically. Above all, Winston McCall put on a show that which is up to all the dodges.

The absolute highlight of the evening was the performance of Shadow Boxing. What was special about it? That the band was accompanied by a string quartet and Casper, who originally sang along with the song, suddenly appeared on stage to demolish it. The audience absolutely loved it.

During the following song Bottom Feeder several Pyros went up in the air. The whole thing was even topped during the following song Crushed, as the entire edge of the stage including the bridge literally burned. This looked really spectacular.

Of course, the guys splashed out and played the last song, Wild Eyes from the 2012 album Atlas, to loud calls for encores. It really was a hardcore evening of an extra class. Gladly again, Parkway Drive!

In mid-May it was finally time for me to see the 8Kids live in Darmstadt at the Centralstation. Discovered by accident, immediately fell in love with the band, then found out that they are from Darmstadt. Perfect. Then the pandemic came and all the opportunities to see the three of them live disappeared. But now finally it was the time. And on top of that, another premiere for me was taking photos at the Centralstation for the first time. In short, it was a home game for both the 8Kids and me. But first things first. I didn’t even know who the opener was until the evening, where I found out that it was the band BLUTHUND. Didn’t tell me anything, so I was very excited to see what’s coming. It started at half past seven and two people wearing white masks stormed onto the stage and started off with fireworks. German-language crossover boomed out of the speakers, while the singer ran across the stage like a madman and lived the music, which also spread wonderfully to the audience. An absolute live band, which brings a lot of energy and doesn’t stay calm. It made a lot of fun, even if you could wonder if they are just the two of them or where the rest is. A conversation after the concert brought light into the darkness, actually there are four of them, but the whole tour they had the problem again and again that one or the other dropped out due to illness. That’s why only the singer/rapper and drummer are left here. What happens when there are four of them? I’ll definitely try to experience that and keep an eye open for more concert dates from BLUTHUND. There was a short guest appearance by Jakob and Hans of the Kids, of course also masked, but it was clear who was hiding behind them. Unfortunately, after half an hour it was already over, it could have gone a little longer.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] At half past eight the Kids came on stage, together with their new drummer Leif. What can I say, it was a spectacle as I had hoped. BLUTHUND’s energy must have somehow stayed on stage and then transferred to the 8Kids. Jakob in particular kept running around from one side of the stage to the other, whether with or without a guitar. With Bordsteinrand right at the start, everyone was also shaken awake and people rushed in from the outside. The crowd trembled and formed a real mosh pit in the middle, which partly covered half the hall. With Der Weg there was also a Grönemeyer cover, in the middle there was WTF, my personal favorite song, not only because of the lyrics, but because it is just so gripping. As the concert was also the last of the tour, the BLUTHUND boys couldn’t help but bring a bengalo cake on stage with the text “BLUTHUND liebt 8KIDS” written on the inside lid of the package. They used that right away to perform Wir bleiben Kids together. Friendships were formed during the tour. A gorilla was also allowed to have a guitar fight with Hans. After 13 songs, the short “Encore Calls” break came, only to come back with one of the most socially critical songs, Dein Zuhause. But also Dämonen and Ich gehöre dir nicht are songs that make you think. The conclusion then came, fittingly with Zeit. After almost 1 1/2 hours, that was the end of a great evening that calls for a repeat. There will be at least one smaller possibility next Friday when the 8Kids play at the Traffic Jam Open Air.

Ad Infinitum up close at the Nachtleben

On Monday, June 13th, 2022, Ad Infinitum played at the Nachtleben in Frankfurt. They were supported by the band Winterstorm.

Shortly before the show, the small hall of the Nachtleben was filled with numerous spectators who could hardly wait to see one of Ad Infinitum‘s first headlining shows. The fact that the concert took place on a Monday was not a problem for real fans. Unfortunately, the first tour for the album Chapter 1 had to be canceled due to corona. The numerous spectators were all the more looking forward to the concert that is now taking place.

Winterstorm

The five sympathetic musicians from Winterstorm from Franconia appeared as support act. They have now released four albums and have developed rapidly since their gig at Wacken 2012.

At the Nachtleben, Winterstorm showed what they’re made of. The band exuberantly combined a wide variety of styles, including melodic refrains with folk metal and elements of power metal. Singer Alexander Schirmer gave everything on stage and motivated the audience to clap and sing along. At times, guitarist Michael Liewald and bassist Peter Cerveny leaned against each other, closed their eyes and played their instruments together.

Many in the audience didn’t seem to know the support act that had been announced at the last minute, but after the first few songs everyone was celebrating. The audience had fun rocking along to songs like Cube of Infinity or Remember. The hall and the guests present were heated up for the headliner of the evening, Ad Infinitum.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de]

Ad Infinitum

The symphonic metal band Ad Infinitum, from the Latin “to infinity”, with singer Melissa Bonny from Switzerland has already released two successful albums and has numerous fans.

The Nachtleben was now filled to the last corner. The audience could hardly wait for the conversion break. A large part of the crowd consisted of die-hard fans and wore t-shirts of the band. The performance started with a mystical intro, followed by the well-known title, namely Reinvented. The audience cheered and freaked out as each band member took the stage one after the other. Ad Infinitum convinced in the Nachtleben with melodic metal sounds and a mixture of soft, catchy refrains and hard growls and screams. Mellissa Bonny sang with a lot of emotion and took over the entire stage with her voice and presence, giving her songs an unmistakably deep and stirring atmosphere. This was underlined by rising fog on the stage. Big spotlights behind the band made for an epic light show.

Guitarist Adrian Theßenvitz stood by Mellissa’s side during the performance and kept motivating the audience to sing and rock along. Drummer Niklas Müller obviously gave his all. You could see how happy he was to finally be able to play in front of an audience. Bassist Korbinian Benedict headbanged while showing off his bass skills. We had a lot of fun being able to experience the most popular songs from the two albums live. Our personal highlights were Reinvented and Marching on Versailles. At the end, all band members bowed and were greeted with thunderous applause and calls for encores from the audience. It was a really successful and thrilling performance.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] We had a really great time at the concert and unfortunately the evening went by way too fast. At 11:00 p.m. the last song was played. The members of Ad Infinitum and Winterstorm took some photos with their fans.

We are already looking forward to many more performances.

The STELL/\RIS concert at the Live Music Hall Weiher Mörlenbach was originally planned as a three-band evening, but Pentastone had to cancel at a very short notice due to illness. Unfortunately, no replacement could be found. But that didn’t give the evening a dent. Broken Vein from Weinheim came on stage first. Apart from some technical problem with the samples, you couldn’t tell that it was both the first show with a new bassist and the first since the pandemic broke out. It was a fantastic show and I’m already looking forward to see them again at the Traffic Jam festival.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] After a reorganization phase, STELL/\RIS came onto the stage. What energy and activity up there – luckily there’s room in the Live Music Hall. The concert offered everything you need: a circle pit and a wall of death, to which singer Nicol came down from the stage and heated up the audience. There was a quieter moment with Scars, for which mostly only Nicol was on the big stage. But she didn’t seem lost there at all, but managed to completely draw attention to herself with her voice and presence. There was a funny moment when the PA suddenly went out, but the band didn’t notice it at first thanks to their in-ears. The drummer was so engrossed in his playing that he noticed it as last one. He didn’t even see Nicol waving around in front of him to try stop him from playing. So he involuntarily gave us a drum solo, which could be heard very well even without a PA. Almost unplugged. But all in all, it was a very successful evening.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] After the show I did a little interview with Nicol in English:

How was the show?

Amazing, we were quite worried about the people showing up, but they did, which was quite a relief. The moshpit surprised me and it was amazing, even though I got hit during the Wall of Death.

How was the reception of the EP?

Our friends really liked and appreciated it. The new chapter and era, which we started with it. They where super happy und surprised with Hell-O, but also by the slow Scars. And they weere especially touched by the lyrics of the song.

After the EP, are you planning an Album?

Yes, we will see how the cooperation with Jonathan Dolese of KonKrete Studios will work out, whith whom we worked on Scars. If everything works as planned, we will be doing it with him next year.

For the third time in five days, I went to Café Central in Weinheim. After Serenity and Infected Rain, where Niklas from Dark Art accompanied me, this time I went alone to the Dynazty concert.

Dynazty is a band from Sweden with front man Nils Molin, who you might know from his second band Amaranthe. So I was excited to see how it would be to see him on stage with Dynazty. But first there were three support bands who were allowed to build up the tension.

It all started with the American heavy metal band Holy Mother, which was founded in 1994. But then they took a longer break because singer Mike was suffering from stomach cancer. They came back in early 2021 with a new album and their first tour in a long time. I arrived just as the band was about to start. It was a cool show, very reminiscent of 80s/90s heavy metal icons like Judas Priest or Dio. There was also a homage to the latter with the cover of Holy Diver. In any case, the band heralded a worthy start to the evening.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] The second band of the evening was Surma, from the Czech Republic, but with an Icelandic guitarist in the form of Heri Joensen, who is Tyr‘s singer. However, the band is named after singer and model Viktorie Surmová. The band only exists since 2018, with the first album being released in November 2020. The tour with Dynazty is therefore also the promotional tour for the album, due to the known circumstances. The band delivered a very good application for their album. You could tell they really enjoyed playing. It has to be mentioned that the performance almost didn’t take place, because Viktorie came back from the hospital shortly before the performance, where she had to be treated for burns on her legs, but the injuries were not noticeable in her performance, except for the bandages.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] The third artists of the evening, like Surma, are also a symphonic metal band. We’re talking about none other than the Norwegian Sirenia around the French singer Emmanuelle Zoldan. I was also curious about how the performance would turn out, as I had only heard positive things so far. And my expectations were met. A very good, solid performance, with a terrific Emmanuelle took place. Here, too, you could tell, that the musicians were having fun, and really enjoyed to finally be able to be back on stage. The audience also returned it with much applause and cheers. At the end, Emmanuelle was able to sing a classic from her home country, Voyage Voyage by Desireless in a cool metal version.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Then it was finally time: Dynazty entered the stage. Since the stage is a bit smaller at the Café Central, it suddenly got really crowded, with 2 guitarists, a bassist and frontman Nils. The musicians couldn’t move much, but it was still an energetic show with a lot of audience interaction, movement in the same, fun, joy and sweat. The catchy melodies, paired with Nils great singing, caused a lot of hair to fly, as long as the space in the room allowed it. Because it was really crowded and narrow. After 75 minutes of stage show it was over at 11pm, 4 1/2 hours after the first tones of Holy Mother came out of the amplifiers. And with that, an all-round successful evening came to an end.

Saturday, April 9th, 2022: The second evening at Weinheim’s Café Central also had a lot to offer. Infected Rain from Moldova and Dagoba from France started their “Ecdysis by Night Tour” through Europe and quickly brought in Once Awake from Norway as reinforcements.

Once Awake:
They came from Bergen in Norway and opened the program with a very interesting mixture of Groove Metal and Metalcore. The fate of the first band, which hardly anyone knows, is usually not easy, but the five gentlemen mastered the challenge really confidently. Everyone gave full throttle and obviously had a lot of fun performing in front of an already well-filled hall. A more than worthy start of a very likeable band.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Dagoba:
Second was Dagoba from Marseille, France. The group of four had their brand new album “By Night” with them and from the first second they really wanted to perform. Singer Shawter knew how to heat up the crowd, which had just as much fun as the band on stage. The mixture of groove and industrial metal was well received and celebrated in the form of moshpit and wall of death. It didn’t matter whether it was a new song or an old classic, it turned into an outstanding party.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Infected Rain:
Then it was time for the main act: the Metalcore Shooting Stars from Moldova around frontwoman Lena Scissorhands entered the stage. Like their French colleagues before them, Infected Rain had a new album in their luggage. “Ecdysis” was released at the beginning of January and now, after a postponement, is finally on a release tour. Although the sound sometimes seemed a bit overdriven, the band put on a quite respectable performance. Here, too, a circle pit and wall of death formed, this time supported by a stage diver.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] All in all it was a really successful evening, all three bands demonstrated their live qualities and the audience was just as “On Fire”. For me personally, Once Awake were the new discovery of the evening. Confident on stage, musically high-quality and personally super likeable.

Friday, April 8th, 2022: We went to the Café Central in Weinheim. The program included an evening dedicated to symphonic and power metal, as Serenity from Austria were guests as part of the “Symphonic Power Alliance 2022”. Also on stage there were Sascha Paeth’s Masters of Ceremony, Victorius and Dragony.

Dragony:
Exactly at 18:30 the Austrians from Vienna, Dragony, started to play, actually half an hour earlier than planned, but luckily I was there right then. I’ve been waiting for over a year to finally hear the songs of Viribus Unitis live. Unfortunately it was only a short set consisting of 6 songs, but it was fun and full of energy. Three new songs were presented, Gods of War, AEIOU and Legends Never Die. Of course, the two classics If It Bleeds We Can Kill It, which Siegfrid announced with a very cool Schwarzenegger imitation, and Wolves of the North could not be missing. The latter from the time, quoting Siegfrid, when “Game of Thrones was still cool”. Lords of the Hunt completed the set.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Victorius:
The power metal band from Sachsen-Anhalt performed in yellow and black armour. These are part of the concept of their forthcoming new album, Dinosaur Warfare Pt.2. And of course they also had the first single Dinos and Dragons with them as a foretaste. But also songs from the previous work like Super Sonic Samurai or Shuriken Showdown found their way into the set list. The area in front of the stage was already full, and the audience clearly enjoyed the performance of the five gentlemen. The set was over after a good half an hour, but you could have listened and watched Victorius for hours without any problems.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Sascha Paeth´s Masters of Ceremony:
The power metalers from Sascha Paeth’s Masters of Ceremony came on stage as third band. The inclined fan quickly noticed that something was different than planned. Corvin Bahn was nowhere to be seen with his keyboard, Sascha later announced that he unfortunately had to go to the hospital and would be out for the rest of the tour. But Adrienne Cowan was also absent, which explained why Chiara Tricarico, singer of Moonlight Haze, walked through the Café Central before the performance. The whole thing led to the band spontaneously making a set list that they hadn’t written down and that the songs had to be spontaneously designed differently. But that didn’t detract from the whole thing, you could tell that the musicians had fun on stage and they delivered a really cool and good performance. And I (Thomas) had the pleasure of seeing Chiara live earlier than I thought.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Serenity:
The symphonic metalers from Tyrol impressively demonstrated their live qualities. A bombastic sound paired with passion and joy of playing – there was a great atmosphere in the hall from the start. Singer Georg knew how to heat up the crowd and get them carried away, his three colleagues actively supported him with their understanding of a good live show. As a surprise, Georg brought the members of his new project Fallen Sanctuary to the stage, instead of Serenity. Together they performed two songs of their upcoming debut album. A really very successful performance. After that, Serenity returned once more to top off the evening. The encores played were also excellent – this band is simply a force on stage.

On the 26th of November the Band Kalaska went to the Goldene Krone in Darmstadt for one of the last concerts of the year. Together with them played the bands Red Veil from Offenbach and the locals Pentastone. As first band played Red Veil, with solid and very good Modern Prog Metal. Normally they are five musicians, but one of their guitarists became ill, so that Marius, the guitarists who was present, recorded the parts before hand, so that where not missed. Which he did perfectly.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Second on the stage was Pentastone, which already played at the Goldene Krone one month before, together with Oversense. The concert was an energy explosion, with already a Wall of Death during the first song. It was a complete destruction of the hall, with a Moshpit, a lot of sweat and fun.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Kalaska finished the evening. A band which exists only since 2020, but their roots are older, but interconnected with other music. Now we are one album, one own label and a self build studio later. Their music is something between alternative metal and grunge, paired with a lot of energy and catchy melodies. A real cool performance, with sympathic musicians, which pays off to be seen.
