The Finns are coming…

Maybe even Finnish is the next world metal language, as some Finnish bands are invading in the Frankfurt area with concerts in December; the world still has some catching up to do.

Nightwish, one of the biggest female-fronted symphonic metal bands, were guests in the Frankfurt Festhalle. But before they appeared, you could use your above-mentioned knowledge of Finnish with the first support act Turmion Kätilöt and, if you followed their almost 20-year band history well, you could also sing along. “The Midwives of Destruction” (I admit it, I’ve researched it… Editor’s note) like to appear in groups of six with martially made-up faces, let their hair fly, or their long braids, and offered to the audience which was alread there, a good start. Set in the corner of the rather rare Industrial-Metal with, in fact, Techno elements, this should be the first of the three styles of the evening.

In the meantime, things are happening under their logo of the skeleton sitting in a circle. “Sikiö” is the name of the “heraldic animal”, the archaeo-forensic scientists would be delighted with it, just look at the horns of this creature, which has yet to be determined…

The Festhalle, which was about half full at the time, including the tiers, begins to follow the music, gets caught up in the electro dance metal and gives everything to signal to the band that their performance still reaches the still meager audience.

A song in English is included towards the end, including hand waving. I don’t feel at a metal concert anymore, more like a dance party, but still comfortable. The performance simply inspires and somehow Turmion Kätilöt pulls you along. “One more in English”, and everything about the “Finnish-don’t-understand-what-sing-they-there?” is already forgotten – what a pity.

“Thank you Frankfurt – we love you” – “We love you, too”, the latecomers missed something that evening.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Beast in Black, also from Finland, conquer the stage, as can easily be seen from the oversized banner in the background. But first not in person, first with a bombast entrance music, which is supposed to signal to the audience that something big is about to appear on stage. Watching the beautiful female Anime-Amazon in the background, drummer Atte Palokangas begins the walk-in, greets the audience standing behind his drum kit and takes a seat, takes over the beat of the music and grins, which doesn’t stop for the whole performance. He’s having fun.

But there’s more musicians coming along to Blade Runner, the opening song. Very concise and with a very high recognition value, singer Yannis Papadopoulos, who revives the characteristics of the power metal of the 80s/90s with the band in many places with his head voice. I thought yes, the times are over, but no, in a new guise, this style simply puts you in a good mood. “Happy Metal” so to speak, as I recently read.

Thrown back in the times of Accept, Judas Priest, Bon Jovi and the like, From Hell with Love continues with the obligatory synth recordings, for which some bands were known at the time and those who had imitated them, became criticised. It just has to fit. “We are here for one reason…” the tension increases, which comes as an afterthought, “…to give you the real heavy metal”. That’s an announcement. Brave. Especially if you heard these sayings thirty years ago from bands that were maybe a bit “metal” but far from “heavy”. But that’s history, the past, a revival of the happy metal combo music is taking place here and that through Yannis with a sensational and surprisingly large vocal range. Just as some band names used to appear in the song titles, Beast in Black, the first track from the first album Berserker from 2017 (!) should not be missing. Directly after that it goes into the piece Die by the Blade with guitars swaying in unison, good mood is the program. They also love each other very much and transfer that to the audience, which surprisingly has a lot of diversity in the color of their clothes. Not “just black”, not “just cowl”, but probably also due to the average age and the composition of the bands, there were a lot of spots of color in the now somewhat better filled festival hall.

Nice staging of To the last drop of Blood, in which the drums and the three guitarists get going on their own, before Yannis jumps back onto the stage in his long, black coat and lets the audience also lift their feet. Power metal with that voice… It’s fun to see the guys again on their Dark Connection Tour in 2023, then as headliner. The pyro that some bands use to underline their songs is reserved for Nightwish this time, Beast in Black only has the choreo with guitarists playing in different ways, with a singer who busily jumps from one place to the other on stage.

After Moonlight Rendevous, the disco-dance-pop number – some still remember the “Disco-Fox” – the 80s electro-drums-with-sing-and-hand-waving state breaks out completely with One Night in Tokyo. Tough stuff for people who later want to have enough listening and movement energy for Nightwish. Endurance is the order of the day. Blind and Frozen follows, finally with a guitar solo, and before the threefold “Thank you” and the song End of the World doesn’t start the end, but the style simply goes on. Here Yannis shows his vocal range again and… somehow he reminds me of Rob Halford. Unfortunately, the title “Metal God” has already been given to, and even protected by, this one celebrity of similar vocal range… But who knows? … Maybe as a successor?

Setlist Beast in Black:

From Hell with Love

Beast in Black

Die by the Blade

To the last Drop of Blood

Moonlight Rendezvous

One Night in Tokyo

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] The oversized banner with signature Nightwish artwork, blocking the view of the stage, has been hanging for twenty minutes when the first notes start to be heard. Kai Hatho, who has been Jukka’s successor since 2019, sits on the drums and starts playing the drums alone on stage to accompany the introduction. Gradually, the other members also appear. Then a short change, Floor is on the microphone with a German “Hello Frankfurt” and off we go. Noise is hip. No sign of the successful cancer operation in November. You can only write “Fuck Cancer” and hope that there is nothing left. Radiation therapy is still pending, the Asia tour has to be postponed. But, Nightwish are here and now in the now better filled Festhalle, including open tiers.

Well… as a longtime fan, I had to sympathize with Storytime as well. Yes, solid, vocally anyway, but personally I just miss Anette’s “snotty, cheeky” voice… Well… complaints on a very high level, Floor’s voice is too operatic for me, too trained, but that’s a matter of taste. “Now everything is possible again,” her words to the audience about the first beats of Tribal – and many of the visitors will agree with her. Now the Pyro really comes into play, the matching skulls appear on the background screen, while immediately afterwards it gets more ballad-like again with Élan. “It’s for my daughter” was the announcement and the audience sang along. It doesn’t really bother that the Festhalle once again lives up to the reputation of not being really well suited for such concerts. The double reverberation is probably only noticeable in the tiers. The atmosphere is what is important and it’s good.

On 7 Days to the Wolves, multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley can’t reach Marco Hietala on vocals. It just lacks the depths, the power, the charisma. Unfortunately, the song loses something as a result, as does Dark Chest of Wonders. The background animations switch to burning trees, an indication that the world is on fire all over the place.

Harvest comes very stripped down, Floor just sits on the pedestal and sings the song in a duet with Troy and everything is fine. Everything fits. The voices harmonize, autumnal leaves can be seen in the background, simply a very nice mood before it gets a little faster again with I Want My Tears Back. But here too… Marco is missing. Troy really does a great job, but the “but” remains. If you didn’t know the earlier times, then it would have to be like this. Nemo, an absolute Tarja song, is interpreted by Floor and that’s good for the song and for her too. Adapted to her naturally also trained voice, she sets a new direction; some eras of a Nightwish singer are simply over.

“Are they waiting for Christmas?” Floor asks, asking the audience for “Christmas candles.” So the cellphone lights go on, the lights dim and the Festhalle is suddenly in a romantic mood. How’s the Heart, illuminated by almost only mobile phone lights, in the acoustic version – simply beautiful. Shoemaker take things one step further. The piece maxes out Floor’s voice, towards the end of the piece the sun rises in front of the moon’s surface, opulently staged. Eye and ear are happy.

After Last Ride of the Day, Nightwish proves how long songs can unfold their full effect in a live concert. Ghost Love Score with a good ten minutes leaves the listener in a world of sound and images, which then in the highlight of the evening with The Greatest Show on Earth in full length again pulls out all the musical and pyrotechnic possibilities. A phenomenal rush of images and music is underway, creating a memory that will last. “We were here” as a triple exclamation mark.

On top of that, the accent in the “end credits”. The musicians have all left the stage, the piece Ad Astra is running from the tape, the audience is a bit at a loss, excited, until the band members line up on stage, Floor goes back to the microphone and sings the final part live. That’s goosebumps. Thank you Nightwish for these impressions.

At the end of October, on the 22nd, the doubleheader concert by Amaranthe and Beyond the Black, which had been postponed several times, could finally take place. Due to the various postponements and the resulting scheduling conflicts, the supporting bands were no longer the ones originally announced. Now it was Ad Infinitum, which I was particularly happy about. Even though I could also see them in the Nachtleben in Frankfurt earlier in the year. As second support the Butcher Babies were announced. A band where I actually only knew the two singers Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey, but didn’t really know anything else about them. So as you can see, this was a night of strong front women and melodic metal.

Since four bands were playing, things started quite early and punctually at 6 p.m. with Ad Infinitum. Unfortunately only for half an hour, but the band around Melissa Bonny was able to convince again, showed their full skills and Melissa proved once again that she doesn’t have to hide from Alissa or Angela Gossow with her growls, but can easily keep up. Before the concert I was hoping they would play Afterlife, the duet between Melissa and Nils Molin from Amaranthe. It was a good idea and my wish was also fulfilled, they played the song as third and Nils came on stage to loud cheers and a fantastic performance was delivered. After the first three songs being from Chapter II – Legacy, two songs followed, which already showed a preview of the upcoming album. The only track on the setlist from Chapter I – Monarchy, I am the Storm, was replaced for the first time on the tour that night by another from Chapter I, Live Before You Die. A very moving song, which I like a lot, but I am the Storm has a special meaning for me, as it was the very first song that Melissa released and wrote when she presented the Ad Infinitum project at the end of 2018 and I was immediately captivated by it. But back to the performance, it ended with Animals, a hymn that serves very well as a concert conclusion. For me I can say that I am already looking forward to the next opportunity to see the band. A band that doesn’t shy away from being at the merch stand after the concert to be there for the fans, to be ready for photos and to let the pens heat up to write autographs. Which was also the case this time, except for Niklas, who, in addition to his drummer job that night, also had the job of guitar technician for Chris Hermsdörfer, as he already does on the tours of Serenity, Chris‘ other band.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] After about a quarter of an hour of conversion, the Butcher Babies came on stage at quarter to seven and delivered a firework of action and energy. Visibly in a good mood, there was hardly a quiet moment when Heidi or Carla stood around quietly, not even while singing. Carla in particular kept letting her very long hair fly through the air and kept doing jumps that questioned the gravitational pull of the earth. Both of them alternated again and again either with their clear vocals or their screams and thus formed a harmonious unit. I wasn’t hoping for much, but I was pleasantly surprised. If you like Groove Metal and haven’t seen the five live yet, you should definitely not miss this. You can do this in Frankfurt, Hamburg and Berlin in mid-June 2023. Go, it’s worth it. With their 45 minutes of stage time, they shook the Stadthalle in Offenbach.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] At 8 p.m., the lights went out again and the intro music for the Amaranthe performance played. Anyone who knows me will know that one of my absolute favorite bands has come onto the stage here. Plus the shouter from one of my other favorite bands, The Unguided, namely Richard Sjunnesson. What more could I have wished for in a concert. But enough raving. It started with Fearless, which is also the opening song from the last album Manifest, for which this should actually be the tour in 2020. Suitable with his speed to bring the hall to a boil, which they also managed to do here. It then went straight on with Viral, the first official single from Manifest, which then and now fits the situation in the world like a glove. Also another uptempo number, which is very suitable for singing along. The five are having fun on stage and Richard integrates as if he had always been there. The third track was one of my highlights as it’s my absolute favorite song by the band, Digital World. It was a bit difficult to sing along and resist the urge to bang your head and take photos at the same time. But worked quite well. Hunger then went even further back into Amaranthe‘s past, to the band’s first single and the song that started it all for me. To then jump into the most recent band history with Find Life. A song, I have to admit, which I didn’t like that much when I first heard it, but do more and more the more I hear it. Some songs you just have to listen to more than once to start to comprehend and love them. It then continued with songs from different periods of the band, mostly from Manifest, of course, but each album featured at least one song. After about an hour it was over for the time being, but the band then gave an encore and then ended the show after an hour and 15 minutes. Between That Song and Drop Dead Cynical, I bumped into Richard, I was able to say “hello” and show him The Unguided sweatshirt jacket that I wore especially for the evening, which made him happy.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] The performance of Beyond the Black should also show that the evening was meticulously planned, the intro music played at quarter to ten sharp and it got dark. The band members came on stage one by one and started with Is There Anybody Out There. Jennifer then came on stage, obviously delighted, with the two long light-emitting diodes, which are reminiscent of the video for the song. And the spectacle began. Lots of light show, musicians having fun and the fans even more, and everyone could tell that they were happy that this show and tour could finally take place. The spark immediately jumped from the stage to the fans. With Lost in Forever and Songs of Love and Death, two classics from the somewhat older band history were brought out, which was very well received. Then it was over for us photographers and it was time to enjoy the concert. The next new song came with Reincarnation, to which Jennifer changed clothes and used her mask microphone, which looked very cool. The Hørizøns‘ first song was Human, followed directly by Dancing in the Dark, which had not yet been released at the time. For this purpose, the big drum known from the video was brought onto the stage, on which Jennifer then also played. Great song that was very well received. Followed by Heart of the Hurricane, came the next new song with Winter is Coming. Those who were looking forward to more songs by the Hørizøns were a bit disappointed because later, but not worse, material was played. But this did not detract from the mood. As an encore, there was Wounded Healer, where I was certainly not the only one hoping that Elize Ryd would take the stage again, but unfortunately this was not possible for Elize‘s health reasons. Hallelujah was the worthy conclusion of the evening. An evening that had (almost) everything to offer that makes the heart beat faster and which the visitors will certainly remember for a while. At least I will.

Ad Infinitum up close at the Nachtleben

On Monday, June 13th, 2022, Ad Infinitum played at the Nachtleben in Frankfurt. They were supported by the band Winterstorm.

Shortly before the show, the small hall of the Nachtleben was filled with numerous spectators who could hardly wait to see one of Ad Infinitum‘s first headlining shows. The fact that the concert took place on a Monday was not a problem for real fans. Unfortunately, the first tour for the album Chapter 1 had to be canceled due to corona. The numerous spectators were all the more looking forward to the concert that is now taking place.

Winterstorm

The five sympathetic musicians from Winterstorm from Franconia appeared as support act. They have now released four albums and have developed rapidly since their gig at Wacken 2012.

At the Nachtleben, Winterstorm showed what they’re made of. The band exuberantly combined a wide variety of styles, including melodic refrains with folk metal and elements of power metal. Singer Alexander Schirmer gave everything on stage and motivated the audience to clap and sing along. At times, guitarist Michael Liewald and bassist Peter Cerveny leaned against each other, closed their eyes and played their instruments together.

Many in the audience didn’t seem to know the support act that had been announced at the last minute, but after the first few songs everyone was celebrating. The audience had fun rocking along to songs like Cube of Infinity or Remember. The hall and the guests present were heated up for the headliner of the evening, Ad Infinitum.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de]

Ad Infinitum

The symphonic metal band Ad Infinitum, from the Latin “to infinity”, with singer Melissa Bonny from Switzerland has already released two successful albums and has numerous fans.

The Nachtleben was now filled to the last corner. The audience could hardly wait for the conversion break. A large part of the crowd consisted of die-hard fans and wore t-shirts of the band. The performance started with a mystical intro, followed by the well-known title, namely Reinvented. The audience cheered and freaked out as each band member took the stage one after the other. Ad Infinitum convinced in the Nachtleben with melodic metal sounds and a mixture of soft, catchy refrains and hard growls and screams. Mellissa Bonny sang with a lot of emotion and took over the entire stage with her voice and presence, giving her songs an unmistakably deep and stirring atmosphere. This was underlined by rising fog on the stage. Big spotlights behind the band made for an epic light show.

Guitarist Adrian Theßenvitz stood by Mellissa’s side during the performance and kept motivating the audience to sing and rock along. Drummer Niklas Müller obviously gave his all. You could see how happy he was to finally be able to play in front of an audience. Bassist Korbinian Benedict headbanged while showing off his bass skills. We had a lot of fun being able to experience the most popular songs from the two albums live. Our personal highlights were Reinvented and Marching on Versailles. At the end, all band members bowed and were greeted with thunderous applause and calls for encores from the audience. It was a really successful and thrilling performance.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] We had a really great time at the concert and unfortunately the evening went by way too fast. At 11:00 p.m. the last song was played. The members of Ad Infinitum and Winterstorm took some photos with their fans.

We are already looking forward to many more performances.

For the third time in five days, I went to Café Central in Weinheim. After Serenity and Infected Rain, where Niklas from Dark Art accompanied me, this time I went alone to the Dynazty concert.

Dynazty is a band from Sweden with front man Nils Molin, who you might know from his second band Amaranthe. So I was excited to see how it would be to see him on stage with Dynazty. But first there were three support bands who were allowed to build up the tension.

It all started with the American heavy metal band Holy Mother, which was founded in 1994. But then they took a longer break because singer Mike was suffering from stomach cancer. They came back in early 2021 with a new album and their first tour in a long time. I arrived just as the band was about to start. It was a cool show, very reminiscent of 80s/90s heavy metal icons like Judas Priest or Dio. There was also a homage to the latter with the cover of Holy Diver. In any case, the band heralded a worthy start to the evening.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] The second band of the evening was Surma, from the Czech Republic, but with an Icelandic guitarist in the form of Heri Joensen, who is Tyr‘s singer. However, the band is named after singer and model Viktorie Surmová. The band only exists since 2018, with the first album being released in November 2020. The tour with Dynazty is therefore also the promotional tour for the album, due to the known circumstances. The band delivered a very good application for their album. You could tell they really enjoyed playing. It has to be mentioned that the performance almost didn’t take place, because Viktorie came back from the hospital shortly before the performance, where she had to be treated for burns on her legs, but the injuries were not noticeable in her performance, except for the bandages.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] The third artists of the evening, like Surma, are also a symphonic metal band. We’re talking about none other than the Norwegian Sirenia around the French singer Emmanuelle Zoldan. I was also curious about how the performance would turn out, as I had only heard positive things so far. And my expectations were met. A very good, solid performance, with a terrific Emmanuelle took place. Here, too, you could tell, that the musicians were having fun, and really enjoyed to finally be able to be back on stage. The audience also returned it with much applause and cheers. At the end, Emmanuelle was able to sing a classic from her home country, Voyage Voyage by Desireless in a cool metal version.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Then it was finally time: Dynazty entered the stage. Since the stage is a bit smaller at the Café Central, it suddenly got really crowded, with 2 guitarists, a bassist and frontman Nils. The musicians couldn’t move much, but it was still an energetic show with a lot of audience interaction, movement in the same, fun, joy and sweat. The catchy melodies, paired with Nils great singing, caused a lot of hair to fly, as long as the space in the room allowed it. Because it was really crowded and narrow. After 75 minutes of stage show it was over at 11pm, 4 1/2 hours after the first tones of Holy Mother came out of the amplifiers. And with that, an all-round successful evening came to an end.

Friday, April 8th, 2022: We went to the Café Central in Weinheim. The program included an evening dedicated to symphonic and power metal, as Serenity from Austria were guests as part of the “Symphonic Power Alliance 2022”. Also on stage there were Sascha Paeth’s Masters of Ceremony, Victorius and Dragony.

Dragony:
Exactly at 18:30 the Austrians from Vienna, Dragony, started to play, actually half an hour earlier than planned, but luckily I was there right then. I’ve been waiting for over a year to finally hear the songs of Viribus Unitis live. Unfortunately it was only a short set consisting of 6 songs, but it was fun and full of energy. Three new songs were presented, Gods of War, AEIOU and Legends Never Die. Of course, the two classics If It Bleeds We Can Kill It, which Siegfrid announced with a very cool Schwarzenegger imitation, and Wolves of the North could not be missing. The latter from the time, quoting Siegfrid, when “Game of Thrones was still cool”. Lords of the Hunt completed the set.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Victorius:
The power metal band from Sachsen-Anhalt performed in yellow and black armour. These are part of the concept of their forthcoming new album, Dinosaur Warfare Pt.2. And of course they also had the first single Dinos and Dragons with them as a foretaste. But also songs from the previous work like Super Sonic Samurai or Shuriken Showdown found their way into the set list. The area in front of the stage was already full, and the audience clearly enjoyed the performance of the five gentlemen. The set was over after a good half an hour, but you could have listened and watched Victorius for hours without any problems.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Sascha Paeth´s Masters of Ceremony:
The power metalers from Sascha Paeth’s Masters of Ceremony came on stage as third band. The inclined fan quickly noticed that something was different than planned. Corvin Bahn was nowhere to be seen with his keyboard, Sascha later announced that he unfortunately had to go to the hospital and would be out for the rest of the tour. But Adrienne Cowan was also absent, which explained why Chiara Tricarico, singer of Moonlight Haze, walked through the Café Central before the performance. The whole thing led to the band spontaneously making a set list that they hadn’t written down and that the songs had to be spontaneously designed differently. But that didn’t detract from the whole thing, you could tell that the musicians had fun on stage and they delivered a really cool and good performance. And I (Thomas) had the pleasure of seeing Chiara live earlier than I thought.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Serenity:
The symphonic metalers from Tyrol impressively demonstrated their live qualities. A bombastic sound paired with passion and joy of playing – there was a great atmosphere in the hall from the start. Singer Georg knew how to heat up the crowd and get them carried away, his three colleagues actively supported him with their understanding of a good live show. As a surprise, Georg brought the members of his new project Fallen Sanctuary to the stage, instead of Serenity. Together they performed two songs of their upcoming debut album. A really very successful performance. After that, Serenity returned once more to top off the evening. The encores played were also excellent – this band is simply a force on stage.

Starting on the 27th August 2021, till the 19th September 2021 was the Iseborjer Kultursommer in the City of Neu Isenburg. There as subprogram, from the 16th September till the 19th September, was the Open Doors Festival. Of these 4 days I decided to go to the Newcomer Edition with Enemy Inside which had their first concert after the Release Show of their Album Seven.

As opener was the young band Coma 12 from the regions around Frankfurt/Main. Established as cover band in Hesse, with music coming from rock, pop and punk, they where able to play at different festivals, markets and celebrations in the Rhein-Main region. Because of missing possibilities to play due to the Corona pandemic, the startet at the beginning of 2020, to write their own music and recently recorded their first album. CoMa12 make progressive rock with catchy melodies. The performance was solid and helped to wake up everybody and give desire to see the rest.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] As second on the stage came Farewell Spit, an alternative rock / pop punk band from Koblenz, which was formed in 2018. They say the following about themselves: Farewell Spit combines the musical influences of all members with the aim of answering the question “how music can process all this – what we experience & enjoy but also love & find frightening”. I can add to this, that it was real fun to see them on stage, with solid, cheerful music and a rubber ball as singer, who jumped and moved around the stage and thus really brought the joy of music to life. I would advise everyone to go to a concert, which I will certainly do when the occasion arises.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Spy#Row was the third band on stage. They make heavy rock, with lot’s of rock’n’roll elements in it. They are not unknown, as they where already the opener for UFA, NAZARETH and W.A.S.P. What is also very special with them, is the fact, that they know each other almost from birth and that they play music together for around 15 years, with the youngest member in his early 20is. You can really feel the synergy on stage. The music is also fun and rocks, and going to one of their concerts is really worth it.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] Headliner was, as already stated, Enemy Inside. A Symphonic Metal Band from Aschaffenburg, which I already covered on their Release Show. The show was, as always, with lots of effects, fun and cool situations and very professional, but at the same time with a lot of emotion and passion. Always worth it!

The new album Seven by Enemy Inside was released on the 27th of August 2021. Of course this had to be celebrated. And where could this be done best? Of course in the Colos-Saal in Aschaffenburg, the bands hometown. Due to Corona restrictions, everybody needed a permanently assigned seat and thus not so many fans could attend the show. That is why the concert was a hybrid show, which means, that the show was also available as livestream on the internet. But the few fans provided a terrific atmosphere. At the start of the concert, everybody stayed on their seats, but where very happy as Nastassjas question to the organizer, if the audience was allowed to stand, got a positive answer. Then of course everybody stood up and the mood became more and more lively.

[See image gallery at catchingmovement.de] The concert was opened just like the album, with Crystallize and Alien. During the evening every song from the album was played, except Black And Gold and the cover Crush. A special atmosphere arose during the last single In My Blood, as the stage was soaked in a deep red color to match the music. Afterwards was a small intermission, where the fans called “encore, encore”. Nastassja came back on stage alone to deny anyone who doubted her singing talent. Break Through was definitely one of the highlights of the evening. Even tho Crush was not played that evening, there was still place for a cover, which was Summer Son from Texas. Just like on the album Phoenix, it was the penultimate song of the evening. Finishing the evening was Phoenix. It was a fitting conclusion of a memorable concert, which was the first concert of the band for over a year. Just like a Phoenix from the ashes, they came back with a bang.
