Dieses mal ein Beitrag auf Deutsch, da es hauptsächlich Darmstädter Bewohner angeht. Am 11.11.2021 haben Fridays for Future mit anderen Umweltschutzorganisationen und Bürgerbewegungen vor der Stadtparlamentssitzung im Darmstadtium demonstriert gegen anstehende Entscheidungen. 1. Luxusbauten im Bürgerpark
Im Bürgerpark sollen Wohnungen gebaut werden. Luxuswohnungen. Dafür sollen Flächen versiegelt und ein Naherholungsgebiet zerstört werden. Ein hervorragendes Beispiel dafür, wie Klimagerechtigkeit nicht geht!

2. Planstraße A
Unterhalb der Lincoln-Siedlung soll eine neue Straße durch einen Wald gebaut werden. Wir können es uns nicht mehr leisten, neue Straßen zu bauen – wir brauchen ein völlig neues, klima- und sozialgerechtes Verkehrskonzept ohne neue Straßen. Denn mehr Straßen bedeuten mehr Verkehr!

3. Gewerbegebiet Nord
Im Rahmen des “Masterplans 2030” soll ein neues Gewerbegebiet zwischen Arheilgen und Wixhausen gebaut werden. Auch hier wird ein Naherholungsgebiet zerstört und es werden große Flächen versiegelt. Wir stellen uns klar gegen diese klimaschädliche Wachstumspolitik!

4. Rheinstraßenbrücke
Beim Neubau der baufälligen Rheinstraßenbrücke soll der Raum für Rad- und Fußverkehr zugunsten zwei weiterer Autospuren verkleinert werden. Wir brauchen nicht mehr Autospuren, sondern gut ausgebaute Radinfrastruktur und einen attraktiven ÖPNV!

Fridays for Future Demonstration – 24.09.2021 – Darmstadt

The 24th of September 2021 was another global climate strike organized by Fridays for Future. Around 620.000 people went to the streets in Germany, in more than 470 cities. It was a rally on a worldwide scale, with more than 1700 protests in more than 80 countries around the globe. Like in 2019, during the third global climate strike, I went to the demonstration in Darmstadt to protest and take some photos.

Fridays for Future Demonstration – 20.09.2019 – Darmstadt

On the 20th of September 2019 was the third global climate strike organized by Fridays for Future. That day more than a million people worldwide went to the streets to protest and call the politicians to act against climate change. In Germany alone 500 demonstrations with around 1.4 million participants took place. And I went to the Fridays for Future Demonstration in Darmstadt, around 35km south of Frankfurt/Main and took photos to document this protest.

Save the Internet Demonstration – 23.03.2019 – Frankfurt/Main

The 23rd of March 2019 marked the day where in Europe, mainly in Germany, about 200.000 residents went to the streets to protest against the EU copyright bill, especially against articles 13 and 15. I went to the demonstration in Frankfurt/Main, where between 8.000 and 10.000 people attended the Save the Internet demonstration. I was there because I believe in the movement and I am against both articles, but I also took the chance to take photos to document the demonstration. At the demonstration I decided to mainly take photos of the posters which could be seen.

It was a peaceful and ordered demonstration, with no rioting or problems with the people going on the demonstration. The Save the Internet Demonstration in Frankfurt and the other 50 cities in Germany where sadly only half a success, as in the end the EU copyright bill passed without changes in the two articles.
